Easter in Africa is still Easter

There were four days free for Easter – from Friday to Monday. Not that my other days are extremely occupied, but it was nice that other people were free as well:) It started with a very nice Friday at Osu, doing same thing – taking over the world:p – just chillin: lunch at Papaye, afternoon at Smoothy’s and shopping at Koala:) And out of that shopping we had a luxurious Good Friday dinner: fish with two different sauces (compliments to Stevan), potatoes and salad (compliments to Daniela) with garlic bread (compliments to me and David:)) plus sangria with fruits and ice cream with cookies after 12. Fancy isn’t it?;)

Saturday was another relaxing day, which was occupied with painting eggs! It’s not that easy here as you might have guessed. First, the eggs are only brown. Then, the onions are not brown and to find peals is not that easy. We did find some though – almighty Kaneshie market! The other thing we tried – boiling beetroot (burokai). Let me tell you for future – it does NOT work:) So we tried a special kind of red tea. Guess what – instead of making the eggs red, it took away the calcium and the eggs became blueish white. The best Marguciai in all Africa:

Easter Sunday was a family day:) While some people were sleeping, some were sunbathing near the swimming pool and some were enjoying their time in Ada, Jorge Maryna and I had a fun family day! Jorge doesn't look like himself in this picture, but he has too many "perfect mexican smile ones", so I chose the one I like myself in:p

I got to drive the car!!!! Happy happy happy!:)

You should see Jorge in the first 10 minutes – he was freaking out at every corner and every car coming near us. He eased in after a while, but I don’t think he still trust me on that:)

We had an amazing afternoon with a huge dinner at Next Door: awesome view, great food and of course fun company:

And just some nice pictures from the day:

There were a photosession of course... Evaluation:)

Jorge the romantic:p

In the evening we spent an hour at the mosque:) ok, not at the mosque, but near it. It was kinda nice as well, totally calm and relaxed. Oh, while in the “fotoshoot” I broke one of my slippers and had to walk with one bare foot:) not the best idea in Accra, but oh well… Luckily we met everybody at the Chinese restaurant and Daniela brought me some slippers:) They had great food and I had great ice tea! And of course it all ended in Smoothy’s. They have 4 new smoothies! Some of them are quite nice. Well, that’s how we spent Easter…

As for Monday, we were quite stupid to decide to go to the beach, because half of Accra decided to same thing. Which resulted in a traffic to the beach, where we took the different lane and almost hit a motorcycle and some random people running around (and there were plenty of those). Then we had to pay 5000 cedis just to get in the “beach area” and plus 40000 to finally get to the beach. It was absolutely crowded. But the fun part is that most Ghanaians don’t know how to swim, so they go into the water only in one place and kinda stick together. This is how it looks like:

Pretty funny;) But also quite good for people who can swim and can go a bit further from the crowd, as there’s no “competition” there:) And finally I got some tan! After a couple of hours just lieing there and soaking up the sun it was time to go home. And we were definitely not prepared to experience what we did: it was a battle to get to the car, then it took us 45 minutes to get from the beach to the road (which is like 200 meters of distance).

As we had nothing better to do, had a fotosession. And here are the best pics:
Happy Lenka:)

A very rare picture: Jorge WITHOUT mexican smile! Collector's item;)

After one stuggle, there came another one and it took us another 2 hours to get home. So what normally is a 30 minute drive ended up being much more than that. And just for the record:

If you can't see it says "Who can be against us". Trust me, we were definitely against him;)
