Relax...

Yesterday was a very tranquil peaceful day we spent at Aburi botanical garden. It's just like an hour away from Accra. A very very nice place... I guess the pictures will tell more here than words;)

Simply RELAX....

Big big tree and small small people...

It all starts from wanting an orange...

Imprisoned in a tree...

"Art"... I just love this picture:)

Maryna pretending to know how to fly OR "lastachka":p

I don't know what's so special about this picture. It's not even funny... but somehow I like it, so I want to share it with you:)

For Aurelija:) I think it's the best picture of me:p I have better pictures of Lars:D

And that's for the nature lovers:)

AIESEC conference

My first AIESEC Ghana conference happened last weekend. I have to say that I had mixed feelings about it from the beginning. From one side, I was really interested and excited to see how AIESEC conferences look in Ghana. Yet from the other side, I was quite concerned about the quality we could deliver as we had PLENTY of logistical misunderstandings. But I think what is more important is the feeling of satisfaction that the conference left. I was really pleasantly surprised by the newies recruited and the creative faci team that did a great job improvising:)

Comming back to my theories on life and Ghana, I have one more observation. The trotro effect I've told you about seems to work in ALL aspects of life in this part of the world (I wonder if it's actually everywhere, but I just didn't notice before), including the simpliest things. I don't know how, but ALWAYS everything turns out to be ok, though in the beginning it seems that it will never work. It makes my learning of new skills such as patience and positivity easier:)

Mindazai- vel per jausmiskai parasiau, ar ne?;) kad man kitaip neiseina...

P.S.As a popular request I'm sending you TONS of sunshine!!! I'm actually melting here:D

Perfect weekend

Now I'm sure all of you up North will be totally jealous of the weekend I had:D

Having 14 people comming from different places of Ghana meeting at some place not in town is a fun challenge. As everything in Ghana miraculously we managed to meet just on time:) Really it's a country of miracles, most of the time you'd think there is no system at all, but somehow it always works out:) Makes my patience practice easier:p I know it's all gonna be ok. The question always is "how?":)

Comming back to the weekend. So the meeting point was Hans Cottage (picture above), 4 km from Cape Coast. A very nice place, where apart from guests and staff you are very likely to meet crocodiles:) They live there in the pond!!! I found them very cute:p Especially the small crocodiles:) this is a REAL crocodile... he stayed with his mouth open for at least half an hour:)

Kakum national park is a rainforest. The biggest tourist attraction here is the so called Kanopi walk, which is around 400 meters of a rope bridge way above the ground.

It's not very scary if you're walking in a kinda fast pase and focus on the end of the bridge, BUT if:
1. you're scared of heights
2. are walking towards the end of the bridge
3. there's a big (not fat, big...) person going after you
4. you feel the bridge shaking too much
5. you look down and can hardly keep on the sides of the bridge
... you're in trouble:) There are like 5 bridges in total and all of the above happened to me on the second one. I was not very happy at that moment... But it's really worth experiencing and I think my little "accident" made it even more enjoyable:) That's me after reaching the end... I needed something stable to grab onto for a while:)

After Kakum park, we enjoyed a lazy afternoon back in the cottage swimming in the swimming pool, eating dinner, playing new card game (called President, I really liked it:) though I managed to go from President to being Asshole, though ended as vice Asshole:D) and just chilling:) Somehow everybody was very tired and the evening ended quite early... Pussies as Stevan would say:)

Sunday was a real Sunday at the beach. I guess you all know what happens there, you just lie down and enjoy the view and the sun, walk a beach, jump through the waves and simply RELAX.

So that's a PERFECT weekend with a fun gang of people... (Tobi, Cristina, Patrick, me, Gerrit, Misha, Maryna, Martin, Daniela, Christian, David, Lars + Stevan, who was too busy talking with some girls to have a picture with us and Dona, who was the one taking the picture = 14 nationalities!!!)

To Katrin, my friend

There are so many things I would like to tell you today. As it has been a very hot topic and I've received many questions about it I MUST note that my hair is back to it's normal condition though it's five times thinner than it was:s and it's darker than it was:p

Random news: we don't have electricity since Friday:) And since yesterday we don't have water as well:p I'm not complaining... For me it's kinda interesting. Makes life more fun;)

And thank you for the comments on the trotro theory;) I am convinced again and again that this theory is true. Well, yesterday my friend left. A very good friend. Somebody who will be hard to substitude:) I’ll wait for you in January;) Tribute to Katrin and the fun time we had together:

One of the best Lars' shots;)

David (before going to the middle of nowhere), Brian and Katrin at the TroTro station in Takoradi.
