So this is Christmas...

I have to say I’m quite speachless, because it does not feel X-mas at all. It’s more than 30 degrees during the day, there are very few decorations and I’m not buying any presents. The only thing reminding of this holiday is the calendar.

Honestly, I don’t like it like this. I guess it’s ok once, but I don’t think it’s something I’d like to experience again. X-mas is supposed to be with at least a hint of snow, with people smilling for no reason, worrying about what to get whom and spending X-mas eve with your family near X-mas tree, under which during the night people put presents and in the morning everybody’s excited to see what’s under it… I’m being a bit nostalgic.

Still my warmest greetings go round the world to the special people who touched my heart. I’m very greatfull to have you always somewhere near…

Other trips in pictures

On the way back from Wa (up north, a journey that took more than 13 hours) we stopped at Kintampo waterfalls. It's the nicest waterfall I've seen in my life and of course in Ghana:)

Sunday we took a boat trip through the Volta lake - the biggest (or second biggest, it depends on whom you trust) artificial lake in the world. To learn more about this trip, please refer to Cristina's blog. She did a very good job in telling the story;)

The girlz pretending to be balerinas or I don't know what:D

THE trip: architecture

On this roof we slept:) Made especially for tourists, but people do live in the same conditions in the next "house". I still find it nice, though I doubt I could live like this for longer than a week:D Though on the other hand what's the difference? Today we don't have water AND electricity AND gas, so it's just the same;)
This used to be the palace of the chief. The same architecture as the mosque...
Larabanga mosque - the oldest and the biggest one in Ghana. I wasn't very impressed with it, but it's one of those monuments you have to put a "tick" to:)

THE trip: adventure

The children liked Lithuanian magazine:) or maybe just the white girls in it;)
This is the only "stable" picture, but at some points we were going 160 km/h! I've never driven so fast in my life. But somehow we trusted the driver, so it wasn't that scary... When we killed a bird (who was siting on the road and was too lazy to start flying when we honked...), he "slowed down" to 140 km/h.
This is how we spent the most fun night on the roof. It was quite cold during the night, but the stars were very clear - Orion was right obove me;)
Just a romantic picture... sleeping in the middle of nowhere, in complete darkness, with the drums of people celebrating something in the far...
The happy campers prepared to find some hippos in the river diving Ghana and Burkina. The other side is already Burkina Faso;)

THE trip: animals

Plenty of Baboons (babuinai su babuiniukais:p)
Goats are the most common animals in Ghana (not dogs or cats and not even cows;))
I wished to see Antilope Gnu. My sister says these are not Gnu... but still cute animals;)
The cutiest of them all - the hippos!!!:D
We managed to see only two elephants from quite a far, because it's not hot enough for them;) But still it's quite nice to see them in the nature. LIVE:D

Lithuanian invasion!!!!

YES YES YES!!!!

Today is THE day when it all starts! I'm sure Ghana hasn't seen so many lithuanians since it's independence 50 years ago:D (not that I think there were more lithuanians before that:p). I'm not sure if I should be more worried about my lithuanians or about ghanaians:D Either way, I'm sure that next three weeks will be extreme;) Extremely fun, I hope;) Here's how the plan looks like:
9 Dec - Akwaaba and straight to "the best club in Accra" - Tantra:)
10 Dec - Beach (they are comming from winter...)
11 Dec - short trip around Accra, small small shopping and preparation for THE trip
12 - 15 Dec - THE trip: Kumasi, "middle of nowhere" (?), Mole and Wa
16 - 17 Dec - Volta reagion
18 - 19 Dec - Some beaching, maybe Aburi garden or some other shorter trip
20 - 22 Dec - On the way to X-mas: Cape Coast, Kakum national park, Elmina, Takoradi (?)
23 - 27 Dec - Unforgetable X-mas at the beach at the Green turtle lodge (www.greenturtlelodge.com)
28 - 29 Dec - Final days of "city life" in Accra
29 Dec - bye bye love... bye bye happiness...

So, don't be scared if you don't see me online that much... but be sure to read a LONG story of how it all went;)
